Growth Hacking Tip #1It's actually 4 tips from Adam Gingery! As an SEO Specialist & Copywriter, here are my four favourite ways to get free, legitimate growth:
JournoRequests - https://www.journorequests.com/This services sends PR opportunities to your inbox multiple times per day (for FREE!). You have to filter through a bunch of low-quality queries to find the good stuff, but it’s an easy tool that can pay off. I just landed a hit on HowStuffWorks.com for my music history podcast (
http://www.backstagepodcast.com)! This service also works great if you are trying to land a source for an article or video. Simply submit your query within the character limitations! Note: Most of the communication occurs through Twitter.
HARO - Help a Reporter Out - https://www.helpareporter.com/“HARO” functions like JournoRequests, except the communication happens through encrypted email addresses similar to Craigslist. It’s also free for both journalists and sources. I’ve found the quality of opportunities on HARO is higher than JournoRequests (JR mostly features bloggers; HARO has many reporters), and you don’t need Twitter. That brings me to #3...
TwitterI recommend replying to popular tweets with additional information or helpful comments (don’t make lame “Good job!” comments). Follow influencers and regularly engage with their tweets, and you will see regular traffic to your account.
Email HunterDon’t waste time with the “Contact Form” section of a website. Use this free email hunting tool to track down the right contact and increase your chances of a response.
So how are these “growth hacking?” Many businesses fail to see the importance of PR (see point 1 and 2), and they give up on Twitter too soon. Trust me, if you reply to a journalist’s question with a great response, you have a very good chance of being recognized! These free services can grow traffic, earn links quickly, boost SEO, and do so much more!

Sounds like an overly simple one but including offers and links in your email signature is a free and simple growth hack to drive more users to a certain offer. With everyone in our office using this idea it helps generate targeted traffic quickly and for free!

We utilize growthgeeks.com as a means for outsourcing key tasks from our growth team. Growth Geeks is a market place where start ups , small businesses, and entrepreneurs can hire growth specialists to perform tasks from SEO, to content creation, to landing page optimization and beyond. I highly recommend entrepreneurs and growth practitioners check it out as a means to leverage their growth related efforts.

I'm a huge fan of
https://gleam.io which is a tool which growth hackers can use to create everything from competitions to giveaway products or services in return for likes, social following or other actions.
This is a really great way for start-ups and new platforms to quickly gain traction, who doesn't like free things right? I've found that there are a HUGE amount of blogs and websites which specialize in showing their audience where they can join contests or apply for free products. Therefore this tool can be combined with outreach to these sites to build traffic and momentum on their contests.
It's also FREE! Which means that there's no reason not to use it. It could be as simple as a graphic design company offering a free logo as a prize or a new beauty company offering a bottle of their product to the winner.
