I use travelcuts which is by far the cheapest I have found for just emergency medical. I've never had to use it though so I can't comment on claims or anything like that

Legally no, not on a tourist visa. Technically many digital nomads work illegally while visiting countries on a tourist visa though. So if you are getting the work online rather than locally you won't get caught if you're keeping to yourself, but this is technically illegal.

Anything that's commission only is a big red flag! Likewise anything that requires you to pay for things yourself up front before starting work etc
